According to , Bayern Munich have contacted the representatives of Zinedine Zidane to sound out a possibility of the former Real Madrid star, and later extremely successful coach, succeeding Thomas Tuchel in the dugout at the Allianz Arena.
The end of Bayern s domination in the Bundesliga courtesy of Xabi Alonso s Bayer Leverkusen has cost Tuchel his job, though he will lead the Bavarians until the end of the season. Bayern s primary target to take over was none other than Alonso himself, but following the Spaniard s decision not to leave the BayArena this summer, they ve been forced to look elsewhere.
Zidane was in charge at Real over two separate spells, and his greatest achievement as a coach is undoubtedly the three consecutive Champions League triumphs from 2016 to 2018. He left Los Blancos for the second time in 2021 and hasn t worked since.
It s believed that the 51-year-old has turned several offers down in the last three years, but he recently revealed a desire to return to work soon.
